In 2013 Bayside City Council engaged our practice and subconsultant team to prepare the Masterplan for Elsternwick Park (Northern Section). The entire park of both the northern and southern sections, offers competitive sports of football, cricket, lawn bowls and tennis. Some of the facilities were dated and poorly presented.

 

 

We undertook extensive consultation with the sporting clubs and the local community and worked closely with Council officers in the preparation of a range of concepts to improve the functionality of the park and facilities.

 

 

Key outcomes of the masterplan were the replacement of the dated sports pavilion and clubrooms and the construction of a second sports pavilion for the junior sports oval. The main oval was upgraded with warm season grasses on a course sand and sandy soil mix. We prepared well resolved opinions of probable costs for each of the masterplan options.
