Malvern Urban Forest

Following on from the completion of the Masterplan for the Urban Forest, Stonnington City Council commissioned our practice to prepare contract documentation, plans, a Specification and Bill of Quantities to improve two of the existing ponds in this important open space corridor.

First stage: Created by diverting water from adjoining Thomas and Bruce Streets redirected through filtration beds. Enlargement of the pond area and clean up of Cambungi.

Second stage: Major extension of the existing wetland, removal of access to the habitat island. This project attracted significant funding from Melbourne Water as the improvements demonstrated the practices of WSUD to the community and the advantage of joint stakeholder partnerships to achieve significant environmental sustainable outcomes.
