Kitchener Reserve is an important pedestrian thoroughfare linking the Ivanhoe Shopping Centre to the Ivanhoe Railway Station and Bus Interchange. The Reserve was named after Field Marshall Herbert Kitchener for his efforts in the Boer War in the late 19th Century. The reserve has planting and use of bluestone typical of an early 20th Century reserve. Our role was to prepare a masterplan for the reserve that improved accessibility, protected existing trees and improved planting using appropriate drought tolerant species.
